Welcome to Thoughts on A Bright Spot, the blog for Bright Spot Events. Wedding, anniversaries, birthday parties and more are special moments in many people's lives and I love being a part of them. With this blog I'm hoping to share the fun moments of the events that Bright Spot helps produce and maybe some other fun things that we see and want to share.
I thought I should take this opportunity to tell anyone reading this a little more about myself. Of course my name is Abby and I'm originally from Chicago but I've lived in Houston since 1999. I moved down to Houston to attend the University of Houston's Hilton College where I earned a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. After college I worked for a restaurant where I planned everything from corporate events to weddings to holiday parties and then for a boutique hotel managing all of the social events. One of my favorite moments to remember was catering an event for 350 people out of an oversize elevator at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. They said it was locked in place but we spent the whole time a little unsure.
Their are hundreds of stories I could tell about event production and the fun moments I've had along the way but what I really excited about is the future. Their are hundreds of new stories waiting out their for us to experience and with Bright Spot Events I'm looking forward to all of them.
